Quote of the day

On proposals for the US corporate repatriation holiday, which we have blogged extensively, Mat Taibbi of Rolling Stone has written a good article explaining the awfulness of what is going on, with this memorable sentence:
Imagine the uproar if Barack Obama, in the middle of this historic revenue crunch and "We're so broke the world is going to end tomorrow!" debt-ceiling hysteria, decided to declare a second “one-time tax holiday” for, say, unwed single mothers.
How apt. The u.r.l. for this story, incidentally, suggesting the initial name for this article, contains "holiday in Scambodia" which, for this ageing ex-Dead Kennedys fan, would seem like a lively and effective way to put it.
