Country-by-country reporting a step closer in Norway

From Sigrid Klæboe Jacobsen, Chair of TJN-Norway

"The Norwegian ministry of Finance announced on March 15th that they may be willing to implement country-by-country reporting, independently. State secretary Roger Schjerva presented this as one of many measures in their new action plan against economic criminality.

"From the action plan, the Government is open for implementing such measures in Norway, either as a part of the process of possible new EU regulations, or independently."

It is of huge importane that the Ministry of Finance acknowledges that Norway can take the first step, which is something Norwegian organisations has been working on for years. This would be especially important, should the EU process fail to progress.

The action plan is here (only in Norwegian.)
